Fall

Finally, we are beginning to see some relief from the heat and humidity. The abundant rainfall this summer lead to the best pastures ever but stocking up on hay for winter has been a challenge as producers have had a hard time getting their hay harvested.
Fall means breeding and cria season is near.Check out our Herdsire Row for a preview of our outstanding herdsires anxious to service the ladies.
While Covid has posed a challenge for all of us, we are open for small group visits by appointment.
And if you are in the market for alpaca themed gifts of yarn, roving, felt, felted soap, dryer balls...the list goes on, give us a holler. .

Just Chilling

Outstanding alpacas offered affordably, OnAgain OffAgain Farm is home to award winning alpacas. We raise and sell breeding stock as well as alpacas for fiber and pets. Alpacas are "green" animals in that they produce a renewable yearly product and are easy on the environment. Gardeners cherish their manure. Their fiber is hypoallergenic and warm, lending itself to a variety of uses from fine garments to insulation. In addition to animal sales, we offer breeding services as well as sales of raw fiber and yarn.
After several years of "on the fence/off the fence", OnAgain OffAgain Farm was established in 2009. We are loacated just outside the city limits of Spartanburg, SC, smack dab in the middle of a subdivision. The alpacas are the talk of the neighborhood, proving that they can fit in anywhere.

Our story:
We come with years of animal experience as well as BS degrees from Cornell University -Karen's in Animal Science, Juergen's in Agricultural Education. While our kids we little, we did the horse thing with two horses on 5 acres. Then we moved to Spartanburg, leaving our horsey life behind. Facing an empty nest, one night Juergen saw an ad on tv about alpacas and thought "hmmm, I'd like to do that!" Karen was completely on board. We did our research and scouted for properties thinking we were going to end up in the country. That's when we found the best of both worlds - 6 acres of privacy in the middle of a subdivision, 5 minutes from any shopping including our favorite farm store, and no restrictions on land use. A failed attempt by the city to annex us, made us decide the time was right to start our alpaca adventure. We started with 9 in 2010 and by the end of that year we had grown to 21 and have never looked back. It is just the two of us working the farm with occasional help from family, friends and neighbors - especially at shearing time. Now that Karen is retired from her nightshift job at the hospital, we expect to expand more on agritourism and alpaca products.

We are a full service farm offering mentoring before, during, and after the sale.

We offer shearing services - specializing in small farms.

Alpacas for sale, fiber and fiber products for sale, alpaca poo for sale, farm visits by appointment.
